Toluene is an aromatic hydrocarbon. It is flammable, slightly soluble in water, and miscible with most organic solvents including ethanol, acetone and chloroform. It is widely applied in coatings, synthetic resins, dyes, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, benzoic acid production, gasoline blending and other fields.
